Just a few simple affirmations can transform your life for the better. Today, say a wish out loud.
“Magic phrases” have existed since ancient times. In primitive societies, surrounded by danger and in need of food, warmth, and shelter, people noticed that when something worked, they repeated it in other situations. Anthropologists believe this is how primitive magic was born. Alongside actions, people also used words to solve problems. Words that brought luck were repeated again and again, and so spells and incantations appeared.

“Magical actions” (rituals) and “magical words” were used by all our distant ancestors to gain benefits. This was done professionally by healers, shamans, and sorcerers, and in religions through prayers. Words have always held great power.

Today, beyond spells and prayers, there are also phrases that help people set a positive mindset, calm themselves, and, according to many, even attract good fortune. These are called affirmations. One of the most popular is:
“I am calm.”
It helps restore balance in stressful situations. But unlike fairy-tale spells, affirmations work only when you focus on their meaning and truly feel them.

How to practice affirmations:

  • Play relaxing music if you can.

  • Close your eyes and take several deep breaths.

  • Visualize yourself by a peaceful forest lake.

  • Be aware of the meaning of your affirmation.

  • Say it slowly and calmly. Pause, then repeat.

  • Continue for a few minutes, then gently open your eyes.

Popular short affirmations:

  • I am calm.

  • I am happy.

  • I am loved.

  • I am beautiful.

  • I am free.

  • I am successful.

  • I am wealthy.

  • I am healthy.

  • I am energetic.

  • I am positive.

Longer affirmations can be combined into meditations, which are also an excellent way to set a positive mood. Even if you can’t meditate daily, you can always find 5 minutes for affirmations. For best results, focus on one phrase per session—repeat “I am calm” today, “I am happy” tomorrow, and so on.

Be calm, be happy.
