For most people, a big cup of coffee means a rough morning. For Zoran Petrovic, it meant a three-month art project — and a world record.
In a sleepy Croatian town, Petrovic crafted a ceramic coffee cup so large it could double as a jacuzzi. Standing over a meter tall and weighing 200 kilos, it can hold 300 liters of liquid — enough caffeine to keep an entire village awake through winter. Locals helped him fill it for its first “brew,” and yes, it was actual coffee — strong, black, and served with a ladder.
When reporters asked why he’d build such a thing, Zoran just smiled: “Everyone says coffee keeps you up. I wanted one that could keep up with me.”
The absurd cup has since become a tourist magnet, drawing travelers who want selfies beside “the world’s largest mug.” Cafés nearby even sell mini replicas as souvenirs, complete with the slogan: “Go big or sip home.”
It’s a delicious reminder that not all creativity needs purpose — sometimes it just needs caffeine and a little madness.
