On August 30, 2025, Princess Marie-Caroline, daughter of Hereditary Prince Alois and Princess Sophie, married Venezuelan investment manager Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer. The ceremony took place at St. Florin’s Cathedral in Vaduz—the heart of Liechtenstein—in front of hundreds of guests and well-wishers.

The wedding service was officiated by Bishop Benno Elbs, followed by an elegant reception at Vaduz Castle, a stunning medieval fortress that has been the official residence of the princely family since 1939.

Elegance and Tradition

The 28-year-old granddaughter of Prince Hans-Adam II, described by Swiss tabloid Blick as “the richest princess in Europe,” shone on her wedding day. She wore a refined gown adorned with delicate embroidery and a plumetis veil edged with lace. The highlight of her bridal look was the historic 19th-century “Habsburg Fringe” tiara, chosen instead of the traditional floral tiara once worn by her mother. She carried a cascading bouquet of white flowers, radiating royal elegance.

Distinguished Guests

The event gathered representatives from European royal houses. Among the honored attendees were Prince Nikolaus of Liechtenstein, Princess Margaretha of Luxembourg, and Liechtenstein’s Prime Minister Brigitta Haas. The atmosphere was one of both regal grandeur and heartfelt celebration.

A Wedding to Remember

Princess Marie-Caroline’s wedding seamlessly blended tradition with modern style. From the majestic ceremony at the cathedral to the fashion details like the heirloom tiara and veil, every element reflected both respect for heritage and the forward-looking spirit of a new generation.

More than just a glamorous social occasion, this was a celebration of love, legacy, and culture—one destined to be remembered in the chronicles of Europe’s royal families.
